Our history
Motif Hotel on Nashville’s Music Row stands on the site that used to hold the United Artists Tower. United Artists Tower was originally constructed in 1974 by two members of Elvis Presley’s backup vocal group, The Jordanaires, and served as office and recording studio space for decades. The Jordanaires gained their notoriety when recording with Elvis Presley. They also backed up Jim Reeves, Patsy Cline, Marty Robbins, Ricky Nelson, and virtually every other major name in both Pop and Country music during the ‘50s, ‘60s, and ‘70s. They are still known today as the World’s Greatest Backup Vocal group. The United Artist Tower is just one of the famous recording studios on Music Row, take a tour of the neighborhood for the behind the scenes stories of your favorite artists and songs.
